Bulk Pick-Up

We are asking residents to contact the Borough Hall to schedule your pickups.  Contact the Office of the Municipal Clerk to schedule. Please call (732) 349-0403, or email publicworks@boroughofsouthtomsriver.com

Bulk pick-up is available every month. However, the Borough closes sign-ups once the list reaches 40 confirmed requests. It would be in your best interests to call and request a Bulk pick-up a month ahead of time to ensure you availability.

Bulk trash is defined as any item of refuse that is too large to fit into a normal refuse container and which cannot be recycled. The following items ARE NOT considered bulk trash:

• Pressure treated wood
• Household paint
• Used motor oil.
• Brush
• NO construction material
  
  

Bulk trash includes the collection of large trash items such as, but not limited to:

• couches
• wooden bed frames
• large chairs rugs, carpeting, padding
• mirrors
• tires (no rims)**
• wood
• mattresses and box springs
• tables
• plastic lawn furniture
• breakfronts
• wood sheds
• sheet rock (max. three 45-gallon cans)
• windows
• wooden desks
• hard covered books
• other items of unwieldy nature
• televisions, computer equipment and electronics
• scrap metal and appliances
• refrigerators and air conditioners*

*Refrigerators and Air Conditioners - A $20.00 fee needs to be paid at Borough Hall (freon removal) before it is picked up. Doors and shelves must also be removed.

**Tires must have rims removed. A $2.00 fee needs to be paid at the Borough Hall for each tire before they are picked up. Tires must not have holes, cuts or slashes in them.
